Genetically Engineered Food Replacement
The church has always been an avid critic of this discussion and claims that only God can create all living things. Christianity was discovered only more than 3,000 years ago or let us even date it at a later date like 10M years ago. The timeline of human evolution based on the age of fossils that were discovered by scientific means dates back to 55M years ago. The context in the Genesis should be as old as the bible - 10M years old.
In the Genesis, God made the world first and then let there be light, etc... The actual age of Earth is 4.5B years, Moon 4.6B years old, and the Sun 4.8B years old - this discrepancy in time makes it hard to reconcile the claim of the church. But let us there is a God creator. All previous creations made by Him will allow another creature to evolve from it - like single cells attract others and another evolution takes place. Genetic Engineering uses science to transfer other genes to other species or manipulate their DNA to make it better - in some cases organisms.
So I believe it should be morally accepted that some raw food products could be genetically altered so they can become an even better species. Alterations increase yield and shorten harvest time etc...
But my main argument is - if we do not produce food that is genetically made, will our food supply cater to the population growth? Or are really keen on making those animals extinct just because we need their protein? For example, the cows' gestation period is like 2 years, and can only give birth to one most of the time. The human population growth would certainly make the cow extinct if they continue to consume it. making it extinct is far worse than genetically engineered food replacement.
